About

On January 23, 2010, almost 500 WordPress Beginners, Enthusiasts, Developers, Designers, Users and Volunteers came together at Microsoft NERD Center for a day of learning and community.

They received a ton of swag including bags, shirts, scarves, stickers and buttons.

They dined on clam chowder, lunch from Whole Foods, and Peace O Pie for vegans and veggies. They were perked up by coffee from Barismo, Monster drinks, snacks and cotton candy in the afternoon.

They were helped by a legion of volunteers from all over Massachusetts, in bright blue hoodies.  They heard talks by over 40 of the brightest speakers and panelists in the Massachusetts area in four different tracks on three different floors. Attendees got individual help in the genius bar, packed with a waitlist.

They enjoyed eight popularly decided Ignite sessions in the afternoon, a keynote by Doc Searls and David Weinberger of the Cluetrain Manifesto.

Then we all retired to the Asgard, shuttled there by WordCamp Boston, before tucking into beds at the Marriott Cambridge. Women attendees gathered the following morning for the first ever #WPChicks brunch.
