@Natick setup a CAPTCHA on your signup process. There are a number of plugins that can do this. Also the Bad Behavior plugin is good at stopping bots from even hitting your site

I really don't think people will feel that way. There are some offline donations that aren't counted in that number, a limitation of the plugin. Additionally, WordCamp Boston is donating an additional $2500 (our unspent income) as well, bringing the total donation to almost $10000. We can't really force people to contribute, all we can do is ask and encourage, and we are thrilled with the results of the program. After all, the potential had been zero in contributions, and it went to almost $10000 from attendees and sponsoring companies in a week. We hope everyone is just as proud as we are, and hopefully, the community will sustain donations ongoing through WPCares.org.

"At the end of the day, WordCamp Boston raised about $6200 in funds for Red Cross. "

In the top right of the pages I have visited, it states "$4713.5 / $5000 raised." So, when people read this article, they may feel good that you surpassed your goal by 24% but if they see the other pages in this site, they might think "why did they stop when they only had 5.73% remaining?

@Bina Good question and this was actually brought up in my Security Presentation. WordPress MU treats the admin account differently because it's really a WPMU site admin account. Here is a forum thread that explains how to change the admin username in WPMU, but be careful because it requires direct DB record updates:
